“A charitable disposition is like a perennial river. It never dries up and has a long journey to make. It is wet and green wherever it flows” – Sri Amma on Selfless service.
The soup kitchen is conducted on the third Saturday of every month. Currently, we render this service through Vedanta Society of Toronto. A nutritious fresh hot meal is prepared by our volunteers following hygienic methods. The food served consists of a vegetable soup made using seasonal vegetables, a freshly prepared salad, bread rolls and fruits. Our volunteers include participants of all ages including high school students who participate enthusiastically in cooking, cutting vegetables and cleaning. The food is then delivered to Syme Woolner Neighbourhood and Family Centre, Toronto where the food is distributed among the approximately 100 participants who utilize the Centre’s services.
